Choosing a custom domain for your online store is really important because it affects how customers see your brand. Your domain is what people remember when they think of your store. Normally, if you use Cornerrr for your online store, your web address will look like "storename.cornerrr.com." But having your own custom domain gives your store a more personal and professional touch.
Here's a guide on how to set up a custom domain for your Cornerrr store:
Note: It can take up to 10 minutes or in the cases of some DNS providers more time for the DNS record to propagate.
Adding the New Domain to Cornerrr
In your Cornerrr Store Settings, enter your custom domain under "Domains" section.
In the image, We have added the domain myexampledomain.com
to the list of domains for my store.
Then Press the save button.
Updating Your DNS
DNS records direct traffic to your website when users enter your domain name. Here's how to update DNS records with different providers:
DNS Provider config:
Instruction to be followed in DNS provider example (name cheap, GoDaddy, Cloudflare etc)
Sign in to your account and go to the Dashboard.
Navigate to the domain you want to modify and click "Manage."
In the "DNS Records" section, select "Add New Record" and choose "CNAME" from the dropdown.
In the Name field:
To use the root domain like "domain.com", use "@" (without the quotes).
To use a subdomain like: "store.domain.com", use the first part, "store" as the value.
Set the "Value" to "cname.cornerrr.com" and save the changes.
Add another CNAME record for ssl:
Name: _acme-challenge.<hostname>
Value: <hostname>.a1a725ef007bc4fe.dcv.cloudflare.com
For example of you added the name filed in step 4 for as `abc.example.com`
In this record:
Name: _acme-challenge.abc.example.com
Value: abc.example.com.a1a725ef007bc4fe.dcv.cloudflare.com
Troubleshooting
Redirecting a Root Domain Workarounds
Some domain registrars don't fully support CNAME records. As a result - when you add an @
record for a CNAME, the domain registrar will create an invalid A
record.
Registrars that are known to not fully support CNAME records for the root domain include:
Freenom
GoDaddy
Ionos
Workaround 1 - Cloudflare Proxy
You may also configure Cloudflare proxying for your domain to redirect your domain.
After a custom domain is added to the Cornerrr follow the instructions listed on Cloudflare's documentation to configure the proxy.
Workaround 2 - Changing your Domain's Nameservers
You can also change your domain's nameservers to point to Cloudflare's nameservers. This will allow you to use a CNAME record for the root domain. Follow the instructions listed on Cloudflare's documentation to change your nameservers.
