# Creating Categories and Subcategories in Admin Panel

Cornerrr is a user-friendly eCommerce store builder website that allows you to
easily set up and manage your online store. One of the essential features of any
online store is organizing products into categories and subcategories. In this
tutorial, you'll learn how to create categories and subcategories in the
Cornerrr admin dashboard.

Step 1: Log in to the Admin Panel

First, log in to your Cornerrr account and access the admin panel.

Step 2: Navigate to Categories

Once you're logged in, locate and click on the "Categories" option in the admin
dashboard menu.

Step 3: Create a New Category

In the Categories section, look for the "Create New" button and click on it to
start creating a new category.

Step 4: Fill in Category Details

You will be presented with a form where you need to fill in the details of the
category:

 * Name: Enter the name of the category.

 * Description: Provide a brief description of the category.

 * Slug: This is the URL-friendly version of the name, typically used in the
   website's URL.

 * Image: Upload an image relevant to the category.

Step 5: Upload Category Image (optional)

To upload an image, click on the "Upload New Media" button. A pop-up window will
appear.

In the pop-up window:

 * Select the image you want to upload.

 * Add an alternative text (Alt) for accessibility purposes.

 * Press the "Save" button.

 * This will upload the image and set it for that category.

Step 6: Save the Category

After filling in all the necessary details and uploading the image, click on the
"Save" button to create the category.

Congratulations! You have successfully created your first category on your

Creating Subcategories

To create a subcategory, follow similar steps as above, but before saving, do
the following:

Step 1: Follow steps 1-5 for creating a new category.

Step 2: Select Parent Category

In the category form, you'll find a field named "Parent" or "Parent Category."
Here, you need to select the parent category under which you want to create the
subcategory. For example, if you're creating a subcategory for "Jeans," and
"Women" is the parent category, select "Women" from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Save the Subcategory

Once you've selected the parent category, click on the "Save" button to create
the subcategory.

Voila! You have successfully added a subcategory to your store. You can now
organize your products efficiently by categorizing them into relevant categories
and subcategories in your Cornerrr admin dashboard.
